Un jurado designado por entidades falleras y artísticas ha escogido el proyecto entre ocho candidaturas diferentes.
El proyecto presentado por Miguel Hache ha sido el seleccionado para plantar la falla infantil municipal de 2018. Miguel Hernández Agüelo (València, 1984) ha estudiado el grado de Bellas Artes en la Universitat Politècnica de València, la Universitat de Barcelona y la UNAM de México y ha ganado el 5º premio de la Sección Especial tanto este año como el pasado, cuando además obtuvo por parte del Círculo de Bellas Artes el premio por la mejor falla infantil y el ninot indultado. Reyes Pe colabora en el vestuario de este proyecto, que ha sido elegido por unanimidad.
El jurado que ha seleccionado la falla infantil municipal del año que viene lo han integrado: Nicolás Garcés, delegado de medios de comunicación de la Interagrupación de Fallas, arquitecto técnico por la Universitat Politècnica y responsable al frente de diversos cargos en la comisión de Nou Campanar, en la Federación de Fallas Benicalap-Campanar y en la Interagrupación de Fallas, que es la que le ha propuesto; Pepa Gómez, licenciada en periodismo y ciencias políticas y presidenta de la comisión de Borrull – Socors, a propuesta de Fallas I+E; Daniel López, artista fallero especialista en pintura, responsable de fallas en solitario como la conmemorativa del bicentenario de la Revolución Francesa y colaborador en fallas municipales y de la Sección Especial, algunas de las cuales ganadoras del primer premio, así como en la realización de algunos ninots indultados, a propuesta del Gremio Artesano de Artistas Falleros; en representación de la Asociación Profesional de Ilustradores Valencianos, Núria Tamarit, graduada en Bellas Artes y profesional de la ilustración editorial y en el cómic además de responsable de diversas exposiciones en librerías tanto locales como de otros países, y Teresa Val, en representación de FULL, la Fundación por el Libro y la Lectura, de la cual es coordinadora de proyectos. FULL está integrada por representantes del sector y tiene como objetivo promover el libro y la lectura como instrumentos de difusión y transmisión de la cultura, así como elementos de desarrollo y progreso personal y social.
Las personas responsables de las diversas candidaturas han podido explicar sus proyectos y han respondido a las preguntas de los integrantes del jurado. Garcés ha afirmado que “el proyecto ha convencido al jurado porque aprovecha una obra literaria, como El Principito, con carácter universal e imprescindible para cualquier niño o adulto” y también ha destacado la trayectoria del artista. En la misma línea, Val ha destacado “los valores que transmite una obra de la literatura universal” y ha afirmado que “el artista puede sacar mucho partido estético de una historia tan contundente”.
Este proceso de selección de las fallas municipales se repite por segundo año consecutivo. En las dos ocasiones sus bases han sido consensuadas con el Gremio de Artistas Falleros y como resultado se han presentado al menos tres veces más candidaturas que en el último año del mandato anterior, una cuestión por la cual el concejal de Cultura Festiva, Pere Fuset, ha mostrado su satisfacción dado “el interés despertado entre artistas falleros por las fallas municipales”.
Próximamente habrá un acto específico para la presentación pública del proyecto para la falla infantil municipal del año que viene.
