La secretaria autonómica de Gobernación, Asunción Quinzá, ha reiterado que el compromiso del Consell con las fiestas y tradiciones de la Comunitat Valenciana es «incuestionable» y por ello, «vamos a seguir trabajando para garantizar su futuro y continuar haciendo todo lo que sea necesario por su defensa».
En este sentido, Quinzá ha recordado que el gobierno de Zapatero fue «quien impuso una prohibición en el uso de los petardos a los menores de 12 años, lo que nos obligó a entablar conversaciones para negociar la rebaja en el uso de petardos hasta la edad de 8 años que fue el máximo que logramos».
Así, la secretaria autonómica de Gobernación ha señalado que gracias al trabajo realizado por el Consell en la defensa de las tradiciones que hacen uso de la pólvora, la normativa valenciana reduce la edad fijada por la normativa estatal para el uso de petardos, pasando de los 12 a los 8 años, para la utilización de artificios de Categoria 1, y de los 16 a los 10 años para aquellos comprendidos en la Categoría 2.
Del mismo modo, Quinzá ha explicado que, para que sea posible esa excepción, es obligatorio contar con la autorización por escrito de los padres o tutores legales del menor en la que se certifique que el niño ha recibido instrucciones sobre la adecuada utilización del artificio.
La secretaria autonómica de Gobernación ha insistido en que para el Consell es «una prioridad la defensa de nuestras tradiciones más arraigadas como sucede con aquellas que hacen uso de la pólvora y fruto de este compromiso vamos a seguir trabajando como siempre hemos hecho por la pervivencia de nuestras fiestas.
