El garrofón, para lamento de los amantes de la tradición agrícola y gastronómica de la Comunidad Valenciana, cada vez resulta menos profeta en su tierra. Como señalan los expertos, su cultivo en Valencia pierde el protagonismo de antaño, y tampoco se vislumbran alternativas notables en los canales de importación. Siempre hay platos típicos que generan debate, ya sea por sus componentes o su modo de preparación, y en el caso de la paella, los valencianos subrayan la importancia de sus recetas tradicionales elaboradas con los productos típicos de la región, entre ellos el garrofón, indispensable en la preparación de este plato, al menos para los especialistas más tradicionales.
En este contexto, la firma Naranjas Campo Faves, iniciativa empresarial familiar radicada en Riola (Valencia), se ha lanzado a reivindicar, a través de su canal de distribución online, una propuesta comercial que pone en valor el papel del garrofón en la cocina de lo que debe ser la auténtica paella valenciana. Así, su Caja Especial Paella Valenciana cuenta con todos los ingredientes necesarios para dibujar los pilares básicos del plato que mejor simboliza la imagen de marca valenciana, al menos en cuanto a gastronomía se refiere. Esta caja especial contiene un kilo de arroz, otro de tomates, uno de pimientos rojos y otro de limones de los huertos de Riola, medio kilo de judías planas, medio kilo de garrofón y ajos secos. Además la propuesta de Naranjas Campo Faves incluye el obsequio de cuatro kilos de sus naranjas hasta fin de temporada. Tras ella, se obsequiará melón para el postre.
En su apuesta por preservar lo genuino, Campo Faves también lanza al mercado la Caja Especial Paella Faves I Carxofes, otra de las clásicas especialidades valencianas. La propuesta aglutina un kilo de arroz, de alcachofas, habas, tomates, pimientos rojos, limones y ajos secos, y cuatro kilos de naranjas.
Y para todos los públicos, incluidos los menos ortodoxos, los clientes de la compañía de Riola pueden degustar igualmente la Caja Especial Paella Vegetariana, que viene provista de arroz, alcachofas, habas, tomates, pimientos verdes y rojos, cebollas, limones, espárragos trigueros, champiñones y perejil, y sus correspondientes naranjas.
