Cerca de 300 panes fueron bendecidos | De nuevo, en 2015, la fiesta de San Antonio volverá a tener festeros
Los vecinos de Benifaió disfrutaron el pasado fin de semana de la tradicional fiesta religiosa en honor al patrón de los animales, San Antonio.
La plaza que lleva el nombre del santo fue el punto de encuentro donde desde el viernes y hasta el domingo se llevaron a cabo varios actos en los que destacó la alta participación de los vecinos.
El viernes la programación se inició con una ‘xocolatà’. Centenares de niños y adultos se acercaron para degustar un chocolate caliente. En el acto colaboró la comisión Falla Arturo Más.
El sábado los vecinos se fueron acercando durante toda la tarde a las instalaciones del CEM para entregar los tradicionales panes que serían bendecidos en el domingo festivo. Según la organización de la recogida de este alimento este año “cerca de 300 panes se han entregado para su bendición”.
El domingo 19 la jornada religiosa en honor a San Antonio se inició con la bendición de calderas en el patio del Colegio Cristo Rey, lugar donde la Falla La Verge colaboró cocinando el conocido plato de esta jornada festiva. Seguidamente en procesión la comitiva se acercó a la bendición de panes y posteriormente se realizó la misa cantada por el coro parroquial en honor a San Antonio.
Tras la misa multitud de vecinos se concentraron en las inmediaciones de la Plaza de San Antonio para participar en la bendición de los animales. Perros, gatos, tortugas y pájaros pasaron por la imagen del santo para ser bendecidos.
La bendición de las numerosas caballerías que desfilaron por la Plaza Inmaculada puso el punto y final a una programación que este año, ante la ausencia de festeros, fue organizada por el Ayuntamiento de Benifaió.

La fiesta de San Antonio finalmente sí tendrá festeros el próximo año. En la misa del domingo se leyeron los nombres de los vecinos que en 2015 se encargarán de organizar esta tradicional fiesta en Benifaió.
