Pero no siempre fue así. Hubo momentos en los que el diálogo consiguió vencer los puntos de fricción entre vecinos, comerciantes y falleros. Ése es, precisamente, el objetivo que se ha marcado la nueva Junta Central Fallera (JCF): limar las diferencias al máximo entre colectivos que, en realidad, no son antagónicos. Para ello, el presidente de la JCF, Pere Fuset, ha proyectado una figura concreta, la del mediador fallero, para negociar aquellas situaciones que eleven la tensión originada por los actos festivos.
Con 35 años de fallero a sus espaldas y más de 20 dedicados al mundo vecinal, Toni Pla, actualmente presidente de la asociación de vecinos de Patraix y vicepresidente de la Federación de Asociaciones de Vecinos de Valencia, será el encargado de establecer esa tarea de mediación.«Es difícil conseguir que todo el mundo esté contento porque la ciudad se transforma completamente durante los días de fiestas pero se pueden solventar muchas cosas. El derecho al descanso hay que defenderlo pero tampoco hay que criminalizar al fallero. Se mezcla al festero con el fallero y son dos cosas distintas que hay que diferenciar», explica Pla.
Sólo han transcurrido unos días desde que recibió el encargo de la Junta Central Fallera pero Pla ya se ha marcado una hoja de ruta inicial. «Todo pasa por la participación y hay que abrir canales para que la gente pueda hablar. Antes de que un problema se enquiste se pueden llegar a soluciones solamente escuchando a las dos partes», explica. Y es que, insiste, muchos de los problemas que han elevado la tensión entre falleros y vecinos han sido cuestiones tan sencillas de solucionar como la ubicación de un puesto de churros y buñuelos. El plan que dibuja no es inmediato pese a que algunas medidas de las que pretende articular sí lo sean. «Tenemos cuatro años para trabajar y retomar lo que, en parte, ya se hizo durante el mandato de Félix Crespo. Se trata de emplearse día a día y con responsabilidad pero ya hay un trabajo previo. No partimos de la nada porque ya se establecieron contactos en Russafa, Jesús o Patraix», continúa.
Como mensaje, Pla traslada el «no todo vale» e incluso anticipa que la necesidad de «reconducir» algunos actos falleros en la calle por las molestias que generan tanto a vecinos como comerciantes de toda la ciudad. Las carpas, quizá, serán una de estas cuestiones con las que haya que trabajar con mayor intensidad, ya que es el elemento que más quejas provoca de los residentes. «La fiesta está en la calle y la ciudad se transforma pero es verdad que la vida no se detiene. La mayoría tienen que trabajar y hacer vida y a veces es complicado con la situación que se da durante las Fallas», subraya, antes de incidir en que hay que hacer que las fiestas sean cada vez «más sostenibles». Para ello, asegura, habrá que dar muchos pasos. Los primeros empezarán a darse en los próximos meses, cuando su trabajo y el del resto del equipo que le acompaña empiece a ser visible.
Las reuniones con los vecinos y con los comerciantes se atisban ahora como una parte esencial para comenzar a buscar soluciones al conflicto.

- Otra cuestión a atender de manera urgente. Los comerciantes han dicho basta y han anunciado que no consentirán otro año más de incumplimientos con las churrerías y puestos ambulantes. Este año el problema se ha incrementado con la proliferación de puesto de comida ambulantes, prohibidos por las ordenanzas municipales.
