La Agrupación de Fallas del Carmen ha comunicado su no continuidad en el seno de la Interagrupación de Fallas, en lo que supone un nuevo episodio dentro del proceso de discrepancia interna existente en el colectivo que reúne a las 22 (ahora 21) entidades geográficas de las fallas más allá de los sectores falleros.

La decisión se tomó por votación de los presidentes y la justificación se salda con un escueto motivo: por observar «un incumplimiento del reglamento estatutario de la Interagrupación». En el fondo de esta cuestión subyace una polémica suscitada antes incluso de la acaecida con motivo de la manifestación ilegal del 9 d’Octubre, que provocó la moción de confianza hacia el presidente Jesús Hernández Motes. En esta ocasión, y aunque el presidente del colectivo, Antonio Villena, no quiso profundizar en detalles, no se puede obviar otro de los motivos que había causado malestar en el mundo de las agrupaciones pero del que, finalmente, se pasó de puntillas durante la reunión de la pasada semana, en la que se ratificó a Motes.
Hay que remontarse a la reunión convocada por la Interagrupación y que, bajo la fórmula de asamblea consultiva, acabó por propiciar, desde la mesa, una votación para decidir la postura ante el ayuntamiento. En la misma tuvieron voz y voto, de esta forma, todos los presidentes que asistieron a la reunión, algo que no gustó a todos los representantes de las agrupaciones, incluyendo el del Carmen, porque, se consideraba, era una vulneración de los derechos y atribuciones de los 22 presidentes. De hecho, esa misma noche ya hubo reproches al respecto. Incluso en el enfado se hacía hincapié a que en la Interagrupación votaran comisiones que ni siquiera están agrupadas.
Finalmente, el tema pasó desapercibido en la reunión que ratificó la moción de confianza a Motes, pero no en el Carmen, que ha decidido abandonar la Inter. Villena sí que aseguró que «el Carmen toma una decisión consensuada. Consideramos que estamos para hacer cultura, para hacer fiesta, incluso hasta aceptamos que para hablar de las carpas. Y tampoco entramos en este caso a qué dedica el presidente su tiempo libre. Pero no nos gusta la forma en que se están llevando las cosas. Pensamos que no estar en la Interagrupación no nos va a perjudicar especialmente».
