La Asociación México en Valencia, integrada por mexicanos residentes en la capital valenciana, ha celebrado una misa en la Catedral en honor a su patrona, la Virgen de Guadalupe, cuya festividad se celebró el pasado jueves 12 de diciembre.
La eucaristía, ha estado presidida por el sacerdote jesuita Pep Buades y ha contado con la asistencia del cónsul honorario Pablo Romá, entre otras autoridades, según ha indicado María Luisa Martínez Carrasco, presidenta de la asociación organizadora.
Además, en la misa, que ha estado presidida por una imagen de la Virgen de Guadalupe de dos metros en un lateral del altar, han participado ciudadanos de Perú, Ecuador y Bolivia, entre otros, “que han sido invitados porque la Virgen de Guadalupe es considerada la reina de los países de América, además de ser la Virgen con mayor culto y tradición en México”, ha añadido.
Con esta celebración la asociación ha querido “reproducir los actos más importantes en honor a la patrona que se celebran en nuestro país”. Los niños y adultos han acudido ataviados con la vestimenta típica mexicana y han realizdo una ofrenda floral a la Virgen durante el ofertorio y al finalizar la ceremonia se han interpretado las tradicionales “Mañanitas”, a los pies del altar mayor.
