7:00 horas: Las Falleras Mayores de Valencia y sus Cortes de Honor asistirán a San Juan del Hospital para visitar la Capilla de Santa Bárbara, patrona de los pirotécnicos. A la misma hora, dará comienzo el reparto de trons de bac de Pirotecnia Zarzoso de Altura (Castellón) entre todos los acreditados en la Despertà, desde la Glorieta hasta la calle de la Paz a la altura de la calle Comedias.
7:30 horas: Comienza la Macrodespertà Infantil por las calles de la Paz y San Vicente hasta llegar a la plaza del Ayuntamiento con 1.000 niños acreditados.
7:40 horas: Comienza la Macrodespertà por las calles de la Paz y San Vicente hasta llegar a la plaza del Ayuntamiento con 2.000 personas acreditadas.
Al finalizar, apoteosis final en la Plaza del Ayuntamiento, a cargo de la empresa Pirotecnia Valenciana.
Desayuno Popular
Tras finalizar la despertà, la Junta Central Fallera ofrecerá en la plaza del Ayuntamiento un desayuno fallero para todos los participantes.
Entrada de Bandas de Música
12:00 horas: La Entrada de Bandas de Música contará con el siguiente itinerario:
Plaza de la Virgen, plaza de la Reina, calle del Miguelete, calle San Vicente, finalizando en la plaza del Ayuntamiento, a la que se le dará una vuelta para terminar en la fachada del consistorio.
En ella participan las siguientes bandas de música:
- Escola De Tabal I Dolçaina De Junta Central Fallera
- Asociación Musical La Torre
- Banda de la Cruz Roja
- Centro Instructivo musical Tendentes
- Sociedad Instructiva del Obrero Agrícola y Musical de Benimamet

- Sociedad Musical dels Orriols
- Sociedad Musical La Unió de Tres Forques
- Socieda Musical dels Poblats Maritims

14:00 horas: En la Plaza del Ayuntamiento se disparará una mascletà al estilo tradicional a cargo de la Pirotecnia Valenciana.

19:00 horas: Comienza animación con Boccachico DJ
19:30 horas: Proyección fotos históricas de las comisiones.Llegada de las Falleras Mayores y sus Cortes de Honor por la parte trasera de las Torres de Serranos.
20:00 horas: Comienza el espectáculo (7 minutos)
20:10 horas: Encendido de viales
Tras el espectáculo, discurso de la Alcalde Joan Ribó y entrega de Llaves de la Ciudad a las Falleras Mayores de Valencia del 2017. Discurso de Raquel Alario Bernabé y Clara María Parejo Pérez, Falleras Mayores de Valencia 2017. Una vez finalizado el parlamento, se disparará un castillo de fuegos artificiales a cargo de Pirotecnia Valenciana
A continuación, la comitiva de las Falleras Mayores, Cortes de Honor y autoridades se dirigirá a la Real Basílica de la Virgen de los Desamparados donde se cantará una Salve.
Iglesia San Juan del Hospital
En el centro histórico de Valencia se encuentra la Iglesia de San Juan del Hospital, la más antigua de Valencia tras la Reconquista. Fue fundada en el siglo XIII (1238) por los caballeros de la Soberana Orden de San Juan de Jerusalén cuando el Rey Jaime I el Conquistador toma Valencia. El templo es de nave única y en su interior destaca la capilla de Santa Bárbara, levantada en 1865 y la primera erigida en Europa occidental dedicada a la patrona de los pirotécnicos. Posteriormente se le dedicaría la nueva construcción barroca, con sus símbolos, la imagen de la Santa y una reliquia peculiar.
Santa Bárbara, Patrona de los Pirotécnicos
Una ofrenda a la Patrona de los pirotécnicos será el punto de partida de la primera despertà de las Fallas del 2017. Raquel Alario Bernabé y Clara María Parejo Pérez, acompañadas de sus Cortes de Honor, acudirán a la Iglesia de San Juan del Hospital el domingo 26 de febrero a las siete de la mañana.
Cuenta la tradición que Santa Bárbara, nacida a mediados del siglo III en Nicomedia (población de la actual Turquía), fue encerrada en una torre por su padre Dioscóreo, celoso de su belleza. Orígenes, filósofo cristiano que estaba junto a ella para atenderla, la bautizó haciendo manar agua de una piedra de la habitación en la que estaba recluida. Cuando Bárbara le contó a su padre que se había convertido al cristianismo, éste ordenó que se le diera martirio. Él mismo ejerció de verdugo y la decapitó el cuatro de diciembre. En ese momento, se desencadenó una tormenta, y un rayo lo mató.
El culto a Santa Bárbara fue introducido en la Europa Occidental a través de la ciudad de Valencia gracias a Doña Constanza de Hohenstaufen, hija del Emperador Federico II, que la había casado con el Emperador Juan III de Nicea, (actualmente Turquía). Doña Constanza emigró a Valencia en 1269, y se trajo dos reliquias de Santa Bárbara: un trozo de la piedra donde, según la tradición, manó el agua para su bautismo, un segmento de la columna donde la Santa fue azotada y un relicario con un hueso de su brazo. En el año 1307 mandó ser enterrada en la Iglesia de San Juan del Hospital, donando las reliquias de la Santa, patrona de los pirotécnicos, a esta ciudad.
Despertà
A las 7:00 horas, desde la Glorieta hasta la calle de la Paz a la altura de la calle Comedias, comenzará el reparto de trons de bac y bombetas a las 3.000 personas acreditadas para participar en este evento. Los menores de 18 años no podrán participar, así como cualquier persona que no cuente con la acreditación CRE facilitada por la Junta Central Fallera tras la realización de un curso específico y la aprobación del examen del mismo.
A las 7:30 horas dará comienzo la segunda Despertà Infantil por las calles de la Paz y San Vicente para llegar hasta la Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Por motivos de seguridad, todos los participantes tienen que llevar en un lugar bien visible la acreditación que se recogió previamente en las instalaciones de Junta Central Fallera.
A las 7:40 horas dará comienzo la Despertà por las calles de la Paz y San Vicente para llegar hasta la Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Por motivos de seguridad, todos los participantes tienen que llevar en un lugar bien visible la acreditación que se recogió previamente en las instalaciones de Junta Central Fallera.
Los casi 300.000 trons de bac (4.000 cajas) encargados de despertar a los vecinos de la ciudad de Valencia son de la empresa valenciana Zarzoso.
Desayuno Popular
La Junta Central Fallera ofrecerá al finalizar la despertà en la plaza del Ayuntamiento un desayuno popular a todos los participantes en la gran despertà para reponer fuerzas en un día donde se anuncia a los cuatro vientos la llegada de las Fallas.
