A pesar de haber sido fundada en el año 1990, la Pirotecnia Alpujarreña no había disparado hasta hoy, 2 de marzo de 2015, su primera mascletà en la plaza del Ayuntamiento. Esta empresa con sede en la población granadina de Ugija, se ha estrenado con notable éxito en un día caracterizado por la primaveral temperatura. Una mascletà rítmica y potente con algunos detalles digitales, buscando la intensidad y conjugando el fuego aéreo y terrestre. A destacar la potencia y el apoteosis final.
A esta mascletà, que ha destacado por su potente y apoteósico final, han asistido como invitados de honor de la alcaldesa Rita Barberá, la Fallera Mayor de Valencia de 2008, Gloria Martínez Amigó y Lola Flor Bustos, Fallera Mayor de Valencia del año 2000, además del rector de La Florida State Universiti, James Pitts, y las periodistas Curry Valenzuela y Pilar Cernuda. También ha acudido el alcalde del Puig, José Miguel Tolosa.
Pirotécnica Alpujarreña, de la que son propietarios los hermanos Alfonso, Juan y Antonio Baños Muñoz, ha ganado en dos ocasiones, en 2011 y en 2013 el concurso de “mascletaes” festes d´Elx.
El disparo de mañana correrá a cargo de otra empresa que nunca anteriormente ha disparado en la plaza del Ayuntamiento dentro del ciclo de “mascletaes” falleras del mes de marzo. Se trata de Alacantina de Focs i Artifici, fundada en 1982, que tiene su sede en la partida de Fontcalent de la capital alicantina.
Además ha habido una amplia representación del mundo fallero con la presencia de los máximos representantes de las comisiones Blanquerías, Mestre Arambul, Plaza Cervantes de Paiporta, o Falla Sirena de El Perellonet. Tampoco han faltado las representaciones de las Juntas Locales, en el día de hoy han acudido la de Villanueva de Castellón, Alacuas, Aldaia y Sagunto.
