Torrent va exaltar durant el cap de setmana a les seues Falleres Majors de 2014. Beatriz Fernández Olivares i Mireia Galán Noguera van rebre la seua banda de mans de l’alcaldessa de Torrent, Amparo Folgado. L’auditori de Torrent va tornar a ser l’escenari triat per a acollir sengles actes, on la història de la ciutat i la integració van ser els eixos principals els dits esdeveniments. La pinzellada solidària la van posar els fallers de la capital de l’Horta Sud que van aportar un quilo d’aliments per entrada per a destinar-ho a Punt d’Aliments de Torrent, que atén a 2.200 famílies.
El dissabte a la nit va ser el torn de Beatriz Fernández. El O.A.M. de Junta Local Fallera va desenvolupar en espectacle ple de dinamisme, on una veu en off representava la Torre de Torrent i donava pas a la població musulmana que va crear el dit emblema defensiu. Diversos ballets amb toc oriental van precedir l’aparició de la Fallera Major de Torrent que lluïa una seda mecanitzada blau de nom “princesa”. Companyes del grup de dansa del ventre de Beatriz Fernández també van participar en l’esdeveniment titulat “Sultana”. La mantenidora de l’acte va ser Lucía Andrés Zarapico, Fallera Major Infantil de València de 1996, qui va destacar la generositat de Beatriz i sobretot, la defensa de la festa fallera, del seu epicentre: el monument, en esta època de crisi. L’acte va estar conduit pel periodista Alejandro Garcia.
Per la seua banda, el diumenge va ser el torn dels xiquets i la integració. L’Associació de Discapacitats de Torrent (ADISTO) i un titella animat van plantejar temes com l’amistat, els valors de les xiquetes de la Cort d’Honor i el foc del Fènix de la festa fallera. La Fallera Major Infantil de 2014, Mireia Galán, lluïa un vestit de valenciana Verd Nil (poma). El mantenidor de l’acte va ser el tio de la xiqueta, Javier Noguera, qui destaque les maldats, però també la part solidària de la protagonista de la vesprada. L’espectacle “Imaginació + il•lusió + Integració = Falles” va omplir de rialles, ball i animació l’esdeveniment.
Les acabades de proclamar Falleres Majors de València, Carmen Sancho i Claudia Villodre, van assistir a l’acte per a felicitar-les, igual que les Belleas del Foc d’Alacant i les Reines de les Festes de Segorbe, junt amb poblacions i Juntes locals amigues.
Aliments solidaris en lloc flors
Per a finalitzar, l’alcaldessa de Torrent, Amparo Folgado, va destacar la part solidària de les protagonistes i també dels fallers en conjunt per la seua col•laboració amb el Punt d’Aliments.
Per primera vegada en la història, les canastelles de flors no van fer aparició en l’escenari. Les Falleres Majors van voler donar el valor dels adorns florals a la compra d’aliments per al Punt d’Aliments de Torrent.
A esta aportació es va sumar la iniciativa “Un quilo per entrada”, que per segon any canviava aliments de primera necessitat per entrades per a l’acte. El Punt d’Aliments de la ciutat atén a més de 2.200 famílies. Són nuclis familiars que es troben en situació precària i que compten amb la supervisió de la regidoria de Benestar Social.
