En un entorno preparado para la ocasión, tras las palabras de la componente de la comisión Sandra, la secretaria Beatriz Palacios leyó las actas aprobadas en junta general ordinaria 16 junio 2017, que nombraban a las representantes del ejercicio 2017-18 proclamadas de esta forma como las nuevas representantas de la comisión.
Tras un intento emocionado por parte de Mireia Cuñat, fallera mayor infantil, en la que no pudo dirigir unas palabras por el sentimiento que procesaba en esos momentos, se le cedió el micrófono a Begoña Sanchís que agradeció a familiares, falleros, falleras salientes Carla y Rocio, fallera mayor infantil entrante y presentes, la oportunidad que le habían dado, haciendo referencia a que se encontraba «en una nube» anticipando que sería un año inolvidable y que estaba muy feliz de ser la fallera mayor mayor de un falla centenaria como la Merced
Tras el primer intento Mireia pudo recuperar el aliento y mediar las palabras con las que pidió un agradecimiento y un favor. Agradecimiento por ver cumplido su sueño de princesa infantil de la falla y favor para que por parte de todos y todas se consiga que sea un año maravilloso para las falleras mayores y presidente infantil y acuñando la frase «hagamos que la Mercé esté de moda»
Posteriormente, Diego, con escuetas palabras, agradeció su nombramiento y cedió el micro a Carmen, que como representante de los cuatros presidentes que componen esta comisión, dirigió unas palabras a los presentes y a las recién nombradas falleras mayores Begoña y Mireia.
Tras el acto protocolario se pasó a la entrega del pergamino acreditativo y a la cena servida para todos los presentes.
Comienza para ellas el sueño de ser las falleras mayores de la Plaza de la Merced.
