Juan Arturo Devís ha renovado como presidente de la Hermandad de los Seguidores de la Virgen, responsabilidad que desempeñará durante los próximos cuatro años, según han indicado hoy fuentes de la entidad.
En asamblea de la Hermandad celebrada en la capilla del Capitulet de Valencia “se presentó el mismo número de candidatos que de cargos a ocupar en la Junta de Gobierno de la Hermandad, por lo que fueron proclamados automáticamente y se suprimieron las elecciones previstas para este mes de enero”, han añadido.
Una vez proclamado Juan Arturo Devís, el renovado presidente designó el resto de cargos de la Junta. De esta forma, la vicepresidencia la ocupará Lucas Ballester y Vicenta María Gómez y José Joaquín Vilata renovarán sus cargos como secretaria y tesorero, respectivamente.
Asimismo, los ocho vocales que conformarán a partir de ahora la Junta serán José Luis Albiach, Rosario Gracia, Vicente Guillem, José Luis Heredia, Clemente Lázaro Latorre, Manuel Madrigal, Salvador Puchades y José Santos.
La Hermandad de Seguidores de la Virgen fue creada a instancia del arzobispo de Valencia monseñor Marcelino Olaechea, en 1948, con el cometido de acompañar a la Mare de Déu en todas sus salidas de la Basílica para visitar otras localidades. En la actualidad está formada por más de 450 miembros de diferentes poblaciones de la diócesis y de fuera de ella.
