El Pleno rechaza la creación de una unidad de Policía Local específica para el centro histórico.
El Ayuntamiento de Valencia no solamente realizará los trámites oportunos para declarar la Batalla de flores fiesta de interés turístico de la Comunidad Valenciana, como solicitaba en una moción la concejala de Ciudadanos Amparo Picó, sino que previamente se tramitará la declaración de esta fiesta que en 2016 ha cumplido 125 años como bien inmaterial de relevancia local.
La propuesta alternativa presentada por el concejal Pere Fuset, que secundaba y ampliaba la propuesta de Amparo Picó, ha recibido la aprobación unánime de todos los miembros del Pleno Municipal tras distintas intervenciones que han resaltado la singularidad de la Batalla de Flores y el reconocimiento que merece. En ese sentido el concejal Fuset ha recordado que en su última edición “se ha puesto en valor Pero Fuset. Agradece a la Picó. Alternativa el último año se ha puesto en valor pagando mejor a los artistas carroceros, aumentando el número de carrozas, su presencia en las redes sociales u ofreciendo una señal institucional de televisión para su mayor difusión”.
Amparo Picó, que ha glosado los valores y la historia de esta celebración tan genuinamente valenciana, ha destacado la “importancia de buenas propuestas que fomenten y realcen el valor cultural, festivo e histórico de las fiestas y tradiciones del pueblo valenciano”.
POLICÍA Y CENTRO HISTÓRICO
No ha prosperado, sin embargo, la moción de María Jiménez, de Ciudadanos, para que se cree una unidad específica de Policía local en el Centro Histórico. Jiménez ha señalado la necesidad de este aumento debido al gran número de turistas “y a la necesidad de que los agentes puedan tener vacaciones en el mes de agosto”.
Félix Crespo se ha sumado a la propuesta y, al igual que la representante de Ciudadanos, ha criticado que solamente se hayan convocado 33 plazas de nuevos agentes.
Frente a estos planteamientos Anaïs Menguzzato ha recordado “los escasos recursos y plantilla para atender las necesidades que tenemos en la ciudad que nos dejaron los anteriores gobiernos. Es una propuesta que chirría porque ustedes cuando tuvieron la posibilidad de convocar más plazas no lo hicieron”.
