Quan arriba el mes de maig Torrent s’ompli de Creus i de flors en una festivitat que va ser recuperada fa 18 anys per la falla Cronista. La falla Ramón y Cajal ha sigut la vencedora del concurs en la modalitat de flora natural, gràcies a una creu d’inspiració Gaudí i amb una font en els seus baixos que recordaven a l’existent en el Parc Güell, dissenyada pel mateix arquitecte. Mentres que, per la seua banda, la falla Lope de Rueda ha fet doblet i ha guanyat en la modalitat de manualitats i al seu torn s’ha portat el premi a l’originalitat amb una creu plena de papallones realitzades pel mètode de l’Origami.
Dissabte passat es van entregar els premis a les falles i associacions participants en el casal de la falla organitzadora. El delegat de Cultura, Modest Muñoz, acompanyat de les Falleres Majors de Torrent de 2013 i els representants de la falla Cronista van entregar els guardons. En 2013 han participat en este concurs un total de 22 falles i 4 associacions, junt amb les creus plantades fora de concurs: la de la comissió organitzadora i la de la falla Barri del Carme de Picanya.
