El dissabte 16 d’abril Torrent va participar en una jornada de col·lecta contra el càncer. Una iniciativa impulsada des de la Junta Local de l’Associació Espanyola Contra el Càncer que va reunir durant un matí a veïns i associacions col·laborant per la causa. Les falles de la ciutat no van voler perdre l’oportunitat de participar en aquesta iniciativa que enguany ha augmentat la seua recaptació en un 40% més que l’any anterior, un total d’11.000 euros obtinguts en aquesta jornada solidària. Les Falleres Majors de Torrent, Noelia Peinado i Carla Pallardó junt a les seues Corts d’Honor i les comissions falleres van recaptar al voltant 5.000 euros. Les màximes representants van estar junt a l’alcalde, Jesús Ros i la Reina de l’Encontre, Carmen Verdet als peus del consistori, acompanyant a la Presidenta la Junta Local de la AECC, Amparo Almerich.
