La fiesta grande de la Virgen de los Desamparados se ha visto deslucida este año por la lluvia, pero el fervor de los torrentinos y las torrentinas hacia su patrona ha sido el mismo e incluso más grande. La Ronda a la Verge ya tuvo que ser anulada el pasado jueves y ayer domingo se tuvo que suspender la Solemne Procesión, aunque sí se disparó el Castillo de Fuegos Artificiales.
La Procesión de la Patrona será el próximo domingo, 15 de mayo a partir de las 20h. desde la Parroquia de la Asunción, así también el Traslado y Retorno de la Virgen a la Ermita será el lunes 16 de mayo y al día siguiente el besamanos.
El sábado por la tarde y tapada con un plástico la Virgen de los Desamparados fue trasladada desde la Parroquia de San Vicente Ferrer en el Mas del Jutge hasta la Asunción, en un traslado más rápido de lo habitual debido a la lluvia. Ayer domingo, día grande de la Virgen se celebró la Misa Mayor en la Parroquia de la Asunción.
Así pues, los torrentinos disponen de una semana más para poder estar cerca de la Virgen y celebrar los actos multitudinarios pendientes en honor a la Mare de Déu.
